Writing About Your Daily Routine

Use present simple and time words.

Examples

Key rules

  • Use the present simple for habits: I wake up at 6
  • Use time expressions such as first, then, after lunch and in the evening
  • Use adverbs of frequency such as usually and sometimes before the main verb

Common mistakes

  • I am wake up at 6 → I wake up at 6
  • Then I go to work and after that I... → First I have breakfast, then I go to work.

Use cases

  • Describing a typical day for a language exam
  • Writing a short diary of habits
💡 Tip: Give your routine in order from morning to night to make it easy to follow.
