Short agreement forms.

Examples

  • So do I.
  • Neither can I.

Key rules

  • So + auxiliary + subject agrees with a positive statement: I like tea. So do I
  • Neither + auxiliary + subject agrees with a negative one
  • Use the same auxiliary: be, do, can, have
  • Neither is already negative

Common mistakes

  • So I do → So do I
  • Neither don't I → Neither do I
💡 Tip: Reverse the auxiliary and subject after so and neither.
